I have a few minor things to update and one really MAJOR one. : D So update time it is!
Complete
34.Become a professional engineer
I received my letter from the board on Saturday, I PASSED! : D
101.Hang outdoor Christmas lights!
So it isn't exactly what I was envisioning (lighted garlands as opposed to lights on the roof), but it's safer to put up and they are lights! Outdoors! And they are up! We'll continue to improve in future years. : )
In Progress
1.
Do three things I have been putting off every three monthsYea, September-November pretty much got eaten by the PE exam. Whoops. Picking back up again in December. : )
3.
Identify three behaviors that help me “reset” into a good attitude.Learned a new breathing technique. Will need to try it out for awhile and see if it sticks/works.
4.
Do something outside at least twice a monthI've been doing remarkably well on this one! Woot! Now to keep it up for the rest of winter... ; )
10.
Host a get together quarterlyWe may miss this one this quarter (see PE insanity). Pick back up next quarter.
16.Create a wardrobe I love. (This is defined as a closet full of clothes I am equally happy to wear)
I'm stil working on this. Christmas money will be a big help. And I bought the Already Pretty .pdf makeover, so we'll see if that helps.
18.Photograph 100 outfitsThis has stalled out due to the dead boringness of my winter wardrobe. Jeans, shirt, sweater, tennis shoes, shoot me now. Hopefully with some Christmas funded boots, this will get much better. *fingers crossed*
27.Pay off my car
We are on track to do this late next year. Yay!
28.Buy a second car
We've decided to put our current "stash" towards this, with the goal of buying a car outright next summer. It won't reduce our loans, but it will reduce our monthly obligations.
29.Up our ROTH contributions
This should kick in in January, as our emergency savings account will be where we want it and we will redirect those contributions. Depending on how the gutters fall out, we may end up pushing that back another few months.
36.
Learn one new technical process/concept/soundbite each month.Steady progress being made.
37.
Attend 80% or more of SWE meetingsKeeping up with this one. : )
53.Get The Dining Dragon to 5,000 page views/month
Views have been dropping since September--due to fewer updates I think. Will be focusing more here in the new year.
57.Finish my mom's quilt
Completed more of the applique during my celebratory PE trip. Never again will I plan a quilt out to this level of detail.
67.Find a great recipe for dinner rolls
Tried a new recipe for Thanksgiving. The quest continues though, as they weren't what I'm picturing.
73.
Make an outrageous meal at least once a yearThanksgiving! We may have to up the ante on this though, everything went so smoothly it hardly felt outrageous.
75.Buy a full set of my ideal white dishes.
Have been searching high and low for dishes that match my vision. Have had some close calls but none have been "the ones".
84.
Take at least one picture of the hubby and I each monthLooks like we missed a couple of months! Yikes! Will have to make sure to get some shots of the two of us over Christmas.
88.Write 100 Simply Joy Sunday posts
I've done a few more. For posterity's sake, Post #57 was the first one I did after this challenge started. I am now up to #64. You can see them all
here.
90.
Know what I stand for-write 5 journal posts exploring/detailing my belief systemHave started a new blog which may end up working for this. We'll see.
92.
Do one home maintenance task per monthI have been making up for not pulling my weight while studying. We raked nearly 60 bags of leaves over two weekends. At least it was technically in two months, so it counts for double! ; )
93.Do something to improve (not just maintain) the house
Looks like we will be replacing the gutters. However, given the amount of leaking they are causing, I'm not sure this counts as "improving" over "maintaining". We'll see.
