I just watched one of the most depressing/moving/best movies i've ever seen. The Girl In The Cafe, i cant put into words exactly how the movie made me feel but it was amazing and i'm seriously almost about to cry just thinking about it. everyone should at least visit and read about the ONE campaign (www.one.org) i feel like a totally different ( Read more... )

Really? Because when I saw the movie, I felt like it was a cleverly disguised sermon. And lecturing in its tone, transparently so. Not to belittle the cause, one.org is awesome and I totally support it, but the movie itself I felt like had too much of a point. Does that make sense? Is this a really mean comment to leave? I'd really like to know what it was about it that was so moving. Also, I know that I watched this during the summer when I was very depressed and I haven't seen it since, so that may be coloring my memory of the movie. I really liked watching the one.org ads when they were on all the time though, during live8 they were on every commercial break, that was awesome.

i'm honestly not sure what was so moving about it, i was taken off-gaurd by it since the description i read said comedy and it definatley was not a comedy. for me the love story was the main point and all the political stuff was in support of that so i didnt feel it was too sermon-ie. maybe it was the fact that it wasnt a total fantasy had a lot to do with how i responded to it, but i'm still not sure.

and no, not a mean comment at all, actually a very thought provoking and interesting one that simply offers a different opinion than mine and while i like to think that i am always right i suppose i will admit that it is possible that i am occasionally wrong :-P
