First of all...yay, rice pudding for breakfast....this isn't a Dragoncon commment but my baby made tasty rice pudding last night and I'm eatting it as we speak. It still didn't come out right, too liquid, but it tastes great ( Read more... )

Thanks hon'. They seem to be doing ok. Billy's Gram and Uncle lost their homes and we aren't sure where his sister are but everyone else seems to be ok or made it out ok. Thanks.

Yep, they are with family until they can rebuild. I'm sure Kris is just being young, selfish and stupid so she'll get in touch with the family "when she feels like it" natural disaster won't get in the way of her fun or lack of common sense. ...anyway...

We're having those kind of money problems as well - the solid family vacation date never materialized and now we are supposed to have the money on little notice - not likely to happen in Oct or some sort of truncated version.

Once all the holiday stuff is settled, our gameplan is to automate the deposits into a "con fund", that way it's all taken care of.

I so want to set up a savings account for this sort of thing or for the "house" fund or "car" fund....would be so much easier to save if we just considered the $100+ dollars per check for such savings as a bill and it just got taken out...out of sight, out of billfold.

hahaha woo! Rice pudding is awesome, although Japanese rice pudding is probably very much different from yankee rice pudding, what I grew up w/ was just rice and milk and cinnamon and raisins, kind of like oatmeal but not. Yummmmmmmmy XD!!!

We use just long grain rice but I think that stickie rice would be neat to try out.
