I am quite frustrated. Is it not enough that we're fighting a battle for our survival, must some people constantly strive to make it worse?

Ariadne, you are not to talk to Miss Skeeter again. Freedom of the press is all well and good, but we needn't be so free with our tongue here in the Ministry ( Read more... )

Yes, yes, Minister.

I saw no harm in speaking to a member of the press and divulging harmless information about our normal procedures. It would've been perfectly rude to turn her away, anyhow.

And you don't need to worry because I gave her two bloody records about New Zealand Immigration Records from the '50s. She of course thinks she has the new press releases on Romania's dragon exports.

If she writes one, I look forward to seeing talk about the attraction of New Zealand's sea-side villas.

Well, be more careful in the future. You're not a press assistant, you're a secretary. I need you organizing my day, not spilling secrets to reporters.

Even if the it's only the secret hot-spot for vacationers.

Don't go getting her in trouble, she wasn't of any use to me.

Damn bitch didn't take my bait I can only assume it's because she's a coffee girl, nothing more. Because under any other explanation it would seem I'm losing my touch.

Coffee girl?

Been taking hints from secretagent_man, eh? I only let him get away with it because he was sexy. You're so not.

Go find a hole to drown yourself in, Skeeter. There isn't a person on this earth in their right mind who would tell you anything valuable.

I'm frankly shocked by your opinion, Minister. I mean, to be honest I hardly feel such a bunch of fascist pigs dubious journalists like the Profit can be counted as a real press, but your comment here is almost worthy of your predecessor, or, dare I say it, some members of your Ministry, hmm?

I'll let it slip this time.

By the way, I hear there's a gala coming up. Free Press?

The press is, of course, invited. And there is nothing wrong with guarding one's tongue, especially if one isn't authorized to make statements.
