"Damn sleepwalker!"

"My skin is far too [illegible] for wool, I fear."

"Even in bare feet you thunder."

"We don't know if he's in a coma or just very, very sad."

Have you ever read The Unconsoled, by Kazuo Ishiguro? You know how you say sometimes that you don't want to make Todd marks when you draw or paint? I wonder if Kazuo Ishiguro feels that way sometimes. There are Kazuo marks all over this film.

No, i haven't read that. Should I? I once wanted to start a fake poetry magazine called "Inconsolable."

In the documentary on the DVD Maddin and the other screenwriter said that the movie bears little resemblance to the original screenplay.

I don't think I want to not make Todd marks anymore. The new quest is to have the Todd marks to be worthy of my love.

Ah...I haven't the faintest clue as to what you are quoting... but it sadly resonates. And its agreat shot too; the way the lines start illegible are thereby given more weight which cascades onto the culmination in the last 2 lines. I cant help but thingking of Peter Greenaway's The Pillow Book

I've never seen The Pillow Book... I wonder if I would like it. I just saw Prospero's Books & I didn't love it, also Peter Greenaway. I've heard good things about The Pillow Book, though. These quotes are from Guy Maddin's The Saddest Music In The World. You can get it on DVD. He's Canadian, you know! I'm really pleased with the shot --it's my hand, I was writing quotes from the movie on my hand. It took a while to figure out how to brace my hand that was in the picture and my hand that was holding the camera, and then I was horrified by all the lines in my hand! It was dropping out the color that put me in the right direction, it turned into a visual reference to the movie's look.

Well I've not seen Prospero's Books but I really loved the Pillow Book. Visually stunning...but then again I have a weird love of writting on flesh. Now I want to find some angelic female canvas, an assortment of pens and paints and spend the rest of my vacation time in a symphony of artistic bliss.

See what you did!!!
