I'm happy Jake returned, and they talked... but just like Josh, I too believe Ennis' behavior is too artificial ! what is he trying to do ?! and now you let us hanging, and I'm freaking out bc whatever Ennis did, coming after this vacation of bliss, will hit that much harder and I'm worried for Jake !!

Happy 40th!! I'm 41 now and I can say that the 40s are definitely shaping up to be much better than I had thought they would be. :)

Great chapter. It's so heartbreaking, though, to see these signs of their dissolving relationship--Ennis's anxiety and sometimes drug use, Jack's conscious refusal to deal with his own misgivings. He is lucky to have Josh; what a good sounding-board and a loyal friend he is. Though I'm pretty nervous about the hint that he will be Jack's boyfriend sometime in the future . . .

Even in the beginning of the end it is still clear that they still love each other but sometimes that is not enough. I am curious as to what finally breaks them up...
