Oh no... *angst overload* We knew something would happen to split up the guys. I empathize with Jack deeply, after all he gave this relationship all he could, and who can blame him for his decision here. Nor can I blame him for falling under the rose-tinted illusion that the relationship was strong, after the "perfect boyfriend" behaviour of Ennis those two weeks they spent together.
The dialogue was top notch (especially the conversations between Josh and Jack) and so were Jack's thoughts rendered so naturally and sensitively in the narration.ū

I knew it would come to this but it's sad all the same
but Jack couldn't and shouldn't take no more
sometimes you have to make the tough decisions and then live with it. Perhaps this separation will also Ennis help to grow and figure out what is really important to him.

I'm glad Jack found the strength to do what is best for himself. He needs time to really process the death of his Mother (great previous chapter, with Jack visiting his old house to feel his Mother's warmth) and now the lost of Ennis.
