I know I said I was going to watch an episode an evening but … I CANNOT AND WILL NOT BE LEFT LIKE THIS! *Stamps foot*  Not when the DVD has a Play All function.  So, onwards to Part 4.  Plot summary from Wiki:

“Thornton gives employment to Higgins after Bessie's death and master and hand get along surprisingly well, despite their differences. They ( Read more... )

It's so wonderful isn't it Tubbs .I couldn't tear my eyes away from the screen on first viewing and it seems that it was common occurrence, as I also had to stay up to watch all of them in one go. I finally got to bed at 6am, only to rise again at 7! and then watch them again that afternoon. Suffice to say, not much housework was done for several days.

It changed my life too.Without it, I wouldn't be here and other places and know all of you.
No other drama has affected me the same way, before and since.

"N&S changed my life" is so much more classy than "Ceebies bedtime story changed my life". ;) But it has, because without that, I wouldn't be here (or blogging) and elsewhere and know any of you either. And my DVD collection would be smaller :D All of which would be a great loss.

Well, I confess, Tubbsie, I watched the whole thing in one go. The train station scene certainly made me want to, erm, marry Thornton right then and there on the tracks.

Does the man know how to kiss on screen or what?
What I love is RA says when he watches that scene again it still makes HIM tingle. Tee-hee!

I do think you will thoroughly enjoy reading the novel as well. Books and their film versions are almost always going to differ in some ways, but the film was largely faithful to the book . . . and I won't fault them for the addition of that train station scene. Possibly the most romantic screen kiss EVER.

I didn't know the US/UK versions of the latest P&P differed until I saw it posted here either . . . I do enjoy the MM/KL film but it isn't REALLY P&P, is it? I'm a firm aficionado of Colin and Jennifer's version.
And Meryl Streep as Jane Tennyson? Love her, but perish the thought!!
