Now I'll confess. How sad it really is that last summer, in my very town, at a festival in the park where I walk to in the weekends, the park where I walk to because it's fucking close to home, so how sad is it that precisely there, last summer, I saw Franz Ferdinand live, without even knowing who they really were?? It's a thought I shove in the ( Read more... )

I did that with both Bruce Springsteen (in the eraly 80's) and FF. Ieither heard them on the radio or saw them on Tv but didn't get their albums until much later, even though I knew at the time they were much more than the average band.

And you are soooo wrong about Alex & Nick being the OTP. It's Alex and Bob! Alex just flirts with Nick on stage because he knows it excites Bob. Really, watch Bob watch them in the DVD concerts. :)

Hey I used to be a huge Bruce Springsteen fan in those years too! Luckily, when I went to his concert at the time I was fully conscious about it. It was one of the happiest concert-days in my life :)

Aw, I don't have the FF dvd concerts...yet. I looked for them on the internet *cough*torrents*cough* but found nada. I must have them. After what you said, I'm even more curious ;) As far as what I've seen so far, I'm really fond of the Nick+Alex=OTP theory. I'll admit I find them both extremely hot and it looks to me they fit together quite well - but heck, I'm definitely open to new theories ^_-

I've seen Bruce Sprinsteen 4 times in concert. Quite honestly, after I saw him on the Born in the USA tour, before it hit big and became stadiums, I found other concerts to be very pale in comparision. However, I haven't had the chance to see FF in person yet(Actually, I could have seen them at ACL in 2005, but I didn't really know who they were and wasn't about to stand outside in 108F heat). I expect them to be as or more mesmorizing than Bruce.

It's like you saw The Light, but you weren't prepared.

Bahh, you don't know how many times this has happened to me, both with fandom and rl. Yet it's really that we discover things at the right time for us. Like, for me? I had to watch QAF first, which I did last May, and then everything fell into place for finding Franz. :)

However, I still do laugh quietly from time to time when I remember that about two years ago, people were raving about FF and that when I asked someone about them, they said, "Oh, they're good, but they're not that good." And because they said that I didn't actually find out for myself! Hah. Well at least you've seen them live, though; I've not, yet.

I could go on, actually; you know, I've already had the 'oozes sex' discussion on Alex with a few others on my flist. It's unavoidable, come to think of it.

Looks like watching QAF was a life-changing sort of experience for many people on many levels, it always brings something new and fun and exciting in the interests of the people who watch it :)

Yes, I saw them live but memories are blurry, because I didn't know squat about them. I didn't focus on every detail like I would do now *sobs*

And abouut the "oozes sex" discussion in your lj? I think I missed it - must find it!

LoL, you could say that again. I thought it had strong characters, but by the third season I didn't feel that way anymore.

Oh, but that was when you had innocence yet! I would've liked to have seen them before my brain went all to mush about them.

Mm, well to ease your search a bit, the latest of my madness crept up with fecklesslyfine over here, in the comments. ;)
