Can cats drop fur at will?  I mean, like if they wanted to mark their territory without peeing?  I ask because Jasmine slept on the Baby Bjorn last night, and the amount of fur left behind seems suspicious.

Poor Jasmine.  She pretty much despises Dot.  Honestly, the baby sort of deserves it.  Not only did she completely usurp the Queen's throne, but ( Read more... )

cats drop copious amounts of fur while stressed or scared.

They don't do it at will though... its an automatic response.

I'd chalk it up to changing of seasons and shedding.

Well, I'm quite certain that she wasn't overly stressed or scared. I thought about that because it actually reminded me of when they get freaked out going to the vet. Both of them have been shedding like crazy, but . . . Wow, was it a whole lot of fur.

Yes, I did get it the second time. I'm very interested but will probably have to wait until after I purchase my tickets to Vegas and make sure I have money lined up for the trip.

Cats can drop a lot more fur when stressed (whether it's physical or emotional stress makes no difference). So if she were stressed about feeling like the baby's stuff was invading her sleeping space (even if she invaded the baby's stuff space to sleep), she might have left extra fur behind. Especially if they don't get along, sleeping with the scent of the baby so nearby might have induced shedding.

Gosh, Dot is SO cute!
