I'm quite happy that I finally broke down and made a decision related to either my entertainment or my sanity.

For the last two months since I got a credit card from Costco (and don't worry, I'm being very careful and selective with what I buy with it, mostly gas and my paper subscription), I've been debating whether to go for a TiVo or to add ( Read more... )

Also ... the finest writing program I have ever come across is Rough Draft. I found out about it after J.K. Rowling said that she used it for Harry Potter. It is, hands down, the best thing I've ever used. Once you learn it and can use the notepad for future ideas and install and tweak the dictionary ... you will be amazed.

It does everything you want and then some.

Hmm, I might have to check that out. I've been wedded to Word since I started ficcing eight years because that's what came with the computer, though it comes with a fun editing process;

-I write the original story in a Word HTML file, send that off for betaing.
-The story comes back in a .doc, and I edit the changes by hand into a tiled window.
-Since I write with a dark background on white text, I copy my changes to Eudora's text editor to output an HTML file without Word's junk formatting so I can send that to all the story sites.
-Then to finish off, I have to create two special editions for ff.net and aff.net to account for size concerns and the fact they hate any character that isn't basic punctuation, the 26 letters or 10 numbers.

So yes, any help is much appreciated :)!
