Thirteen worries on my mind
  1. Nappies, Nappies, Nappies
I am still trying to work out how we will manage having two kids in nappies. We obviously want to continue using cloth, but in buying Alice's set we hadn't anticipated having two in nappies at the same time.
Currently, Alice uses Baby Beehinds fitteds and cases. The fitted nappies are a one size ( Read more... )

Thanks for reading :)

I have terry squares as well, which I use if I don't wash often enough, or Alice goes through a particular large number of nappies.

3 in nappies must have cost you a fortune!! But you have to do whatever you can to get by.

Yes, you are right, I have to trust my body. It is hard when all the mums around me keep telling me I'm crazy for wanting an unmedicated birth. But I just have to get my head in the same space as last time, where I never even doubted my ability to do it!

wow - I've not met anyone else who has had a baby within the past 10 years that has used plain cloth nappies!! I am pretty proud of having managed it for two years, let alone multiple children!

You do what you have to when things get hard don't you...

#13 - I did! I did!
#2 - do what I do when you find the going tough - ask reliable, respected mum-friends for advice.
#3 if you doubt your decision, you can change your mind :). Maybe make some choices sooner rather than later when you are more tired from the prgenancy...
#4 and #11 - put them on the shelf to think about in December :).
#8 sounds familiar...
#6 and #7 - I hope you like Gymbaroo as much as we do!

Thanks for reading!

And thanks for the advice, you are right on all the matters. Most of it can just be parked for the short term - it's my own obsession with having everything 'organised' if only in my head. I hate knowing I have to make a decision in the future.

And we enjoyed Gymbaroo very much! :)

I can't comment on most of them (see, I had to read them all to know that!!!) but good luck with the house hunting still. It must be tough to lose out on a place you like.

Thanks for reading anyway! It is tough to lose out again (we missed a place a few weeks back.) There is a new one on the market this weekend that looks like it might suit us even more and the owners are in a hurry to sell. We have the advantage there because we don't have to make an offer subject to the sale of an existing home which is very appealing in the current market.

Thanks for all to O-I words, I can't remember which I used now.

Lots of worries there....your brain must be in over drive!

Ok, you know noone has ever parented two kids until their second comes along. I know that is obvious, but everyone gets through it, whether they are from only families or families with 6 kids. I had similar worries...A was, after all, an only for 6 years. How would I cope with two kids, everyone thinks it and works it out. I'm pretty sure you'll do a fantastic job at parenting two children. There's no rule book to follow so what ever you do will be right.

Even though it sounds close, December is still a long way off and lots of things may change before then. Alice's whole routine on life may change by then. Give it all a few more months and then make decisions regarding her.

See, lots of people bothered to read your long TT :)

Now, go and have a hot drink of what ever you enjoy and rest your brain from all these worries for a while *hugs*

LOL my brain is always in overdrive. I'm a serial worry wart!

I hope I get it right with Alice & the new baby. It's such a big thing but I just have to take the same attitude as all the other parenting dilemmas: follow my instincts and do what works for us.

December is still a long way off. I guess as I get fatter it seems like the baby will be here soon, but I still have ages to work all these things out.

I'm glad so many people read it. It's nice to be reassured by everyone :)

I had a nice hot tea and a night in front of the TV.
