In the 50 minutes Meredith had chemistry lab with Cristina and Amelia, she could drop the sneering vacancy she carried around along with her backpack. She was smart, very, but good grades didn’t impress Ellis. Academic destruction, destruction of any kind really, put Meredith on her radar, so that was it. But looking moronic in front of either of her lab partners was mortifying so Meredith let her brain kick in, let herself block out everything but the science. Substrates, tare mass, Avogadro’s number. And Cristina’s “I’m out for world domination and you are a peon” face. That’s what Amelia called it anyway, and Cristina actually smiled

Wait there's a MerAdd in high school snippet!? Now I will comb the archives searching... Help?

And this fic IS really neat; Meredith/Amelia is a rarer pairing but it has a cool vibe.

The detail about the mother was especially clever!
