Whoops I accidentally plotted a Rose/Cassie Hogwarts AU
Rose is Gryffindor and she doesn’t get along with her housemates because she’s convinced they’re all spreading rumours about her because her dad was a Death Eater and it’s not fair, she was raised by her mom (living secretly in disguise as a muggle) ‘til she hit eleven, and she had just started at school and her mom died and her dad was there and look, we all make terrible decisions when we’re eleven. (Whether or not the rest of the Gryffindors actually DO hold all these things against her or it’s just her own projection is up for debate.)
Cassie is the Hufflepuff Seeker and she seems happy all the time and she has all the friends and everybody loves her. So naturally Rose HATES HER FOREVER.
They get detention together one night (Cassie for dueling to defend a Ravenclaw first-year, Traya Smith, against accusations not unlike the ones Rose faces all the time; Rose for sneaking muggle cigarettes into Hogwarts) and that involves being sent into the forest and it turns out that Cassie isn’t just smart and pretty and popular and perfect, she’s actually useful and talented, too and this should maybe make Rose resent her less but it doesn’t, it makes everything worse.
Until Rose is hiding with her smokes in the Room of Requirement and Cassie barges in, which should not be able to happen, unless- and Rose doesn’t even know why she’s thinking this- Cassie walked by the room three times thinking of Rose.
