I agree.. matches with quick wickets are far more fun both for the audience and for good batsmen.

Humm..I have not watched the match. But from the reports on cricinfo today[1] which calls Sehwag (Last Samurai), it looks like this match had beauty.

The match is over..it was a tame end. Sehwag's 309 is good for the record books but this match will go down as a bad advertisement for Test cricket. And hopefully a wakeup call for the BCCI to look at the state of pitches.

pitches in India are prepared to improve the averages of our batsmen. No Wonder a player like Jaffer can score double centuries and all test matches end up as a run fest.

In the Series with Pak 2 test matches were drawn. And i am sure if the results are analyzed, the results of majority of Test MAtches held in India would be "drawn"

BCCI is afraid of preparing a bowler friendly pitch and we indians are afraid of experimenting, so we adopt a traditional approach. Better be safe than sorry. Its better for the test match to be drawn than lose it to the opposition

Jaffer's not as bad as we think but yeah, he looks better than he actually his because of the dead pitches.

We've had a fair amount of drawn games but lately with most Test matches being result oriented, the BCCI can no longer afford to neglect pitches and definitely needs to focus on result oriented wickets.

Our bowling strength is the best since a long time and I cannot understand why they would not prepare bowler friendly wickets - our batting is the best on paper and our bowlers can use seaming conditions well. It's just sad and I know even Ahmedabad match will be like this.
