1.  Spring break is over!  It would have been so much easier if we'd gone away, but I got my Mary Poppins score right before break and couldn't miss the practice time.  Avery was a good sport, and spent a lot of time "hanging out" in her room.  I'm glad to see her in this stage as I loved spending time in my room.  She's also tearing through a book ( Read more... )

I will say that it has saved me a lot of $$! It's easier to resist buying more when the closet is full of clothes that fit.

Yes! There are 4 kids, 2 boys and 2 girls. They are all "gifted" in some way and they have to work together to solve the mysteries. There is no violence or scary bits, but lots of suspense.

Such a little girl! Bella has major issues with pants because she's tall and skinny. She needs a 10 for length but they don't even come close to fitting in the waist. She either has to get adjustable waist (and they bunch up and are annoying) or elastic waist bottoms and I have to sew the waist to fit her (and I can't sew all that well).

It is time for all that snow to go!

I guess it's good that she's little and short - I can't sew at all!

She is tiny!

When we go to San Diego we stay in La Jolla because we like it and know it fairly well from numerous trips over the years. We rented a vrbo condo one year and the next year we hopped around to different hotels, and we've had a car both times. La Jolla is a small town, not that much to do, but there are some beaches there and restaurants/shops. Very pretty and tranquil and quintessential So Cal, IMO. I think you might want a car to go to different beaches, if you are beach people? But I am not very familiar with downtown SD, I've really only been to this aircraft carrier museum, I forget the name, and Old Town (lots of touristy Mexican restaurants), so no advice on the transit system and how well you can get around without a car. I love both the SD Zoo and Sea World! The zoo is enormous.

USS Midway is the aircraft carrier.

We always have our car and prefer to stay out of town as well. La Jolla is beautiful and Sea World is really pretty far from downtown SD.

We just bought that seires of books for a friend and are waiting until she is done so T can read them (they just did a big book exchange so she is reading some crazy girly books right now).
