It is funny how we're all getting older! And our kids too, when did that happen?

My mom has RA and my grandmother did. I'm pretty sure I'm a ticking time bomb. Not looking forward to that.

Who are you calling old? ;) (IIRC, we are the same age.)

I'm sorry about your thumb. I hope you get some answers soon, and that it is just some random harmless thing.

I tried to post a comment on an old journal entry of mine from last December. Combing old posts for Christmas ideas! You mentioned getting Avery something to hang her violin on the wall. Did that work out? Recommend? My mother wanted to get G a music stand--already have one--or an electric tuner, which I don't think the teacher recommends at this point. Any other violin-inspired gifts you can think of? For some reason my mom is stuck on something violin-oriented. Either that or a portable tap floor, which *I* want for myself! :) Then again, I almost bought G, ahem, myself, a portable ballet barre when G was three!

The string swing has been great! It's so much less painful to practice when you don't have to unpack and apply the shoulder rest every time. And I agree about the tuner. You can get an app for you phone that does the same thing (only use to tune strings, not fingered notes). There isn't really much else. I got Avery a fun book of holiday songs with a cd accompaniment, but G might not be quite ready for that yet. Is her music stand a wire version that folds? If so, an upgraded black Manhasset style stand might be nice. They come in fun colors these days, too. Is she liking violin?

Oh, we aren't OLD,...yet, :)
