Deciding that criminals are suddenly enemies of the state, and that police brutality and forced dispossession would therefore be acceptable treatment of them - that’s not English, either.

- So says a someone proudly paying taxes to a country who will never pay them basic entitlements, let alone benefits. Someone who never felt the urge to set anything on fire despite being forced to live here for 7 months without permission to work, or any support from the government either. Someone who has seen the historical impacts of what happens when the British government takes these people and puts them in a situation where they have to work to survive.

Transportation was only practised for about 250 years from the 1610s to the 1860s - that's a very short period in British history, and definitely considered an aberration.
