Mish paced around the living room restlessly. It wasn’t bone freezing cold but it was still cold. The rain outside pattered down onto the earth; wetting anything everything in sight. It had been raining since yesterday night. She yearned for a warm hug. But there was no one home with her. Everybody was out working. And she was on a holiday. Now how sucky was that? Sighing, she walked around the couch; trying to gain some warmth by walking faster.
There was a soft tinkling and a familiar music played; it was her text message alert and it told her to look outside. She did. And she realized the rain had stopped. The wet scenery was still the same as before. The only difference was that there was a young man; a young man she knew; standing outside smiling at her. A very handsome young man indeed.
A big smile tugged at her lips and she opened the door with her heart threatening to jump out from her throat and butterflies in her stomach.
“Hey~” she leaned against the side of the door; playing casual with him who was still waiting beyond the gate.
“Would you like to join me for a walk?” Minwoo grinned; attempting his best to hide his joy and anticipation.
“Give me two minutes,” she closed the door behind her, grinning from ear to ear; flushing red. Quickly running up the stairs, she changed and ran out of the house after splashing a great deal of water at her face; desperately trying to cool off before running off to meet him.
The dark clouds that once tainted the sky were now replaced with a clear white sheet of beautifully blended sky. With drops of rain still plopping from the leaves, Minwoo and Mish walked side by side down the road. Lost in peaceful bliss, Mish couldn’t stop smiling despite the cold air chilling her. Minwoo couldn’t stop smiling either. The beautiful scenery was perfect behind them.
There was no conversation between them. Only the sounds of the first signs of the world’s awakening after the rain accompanied the couple. There was no need for chit chat. Just the presence of either one was more than enough.
As Mish strolled, she took in a deep breath. The cool breeze fluttered through her hair; making it danced happily as though it had a life of its own. And Minwoo couldn’t stop gazing at her.
She was so beautiful…
Mish turned to look at Minwoo who was smiling lovingly at her. The doting gaze on his face made her smile instantly. Just reading from his face, she knew how much she meant to him. Smiling to herself, she faced the front again and wandered; aimlessly but contentedly.
The birds chirped gleefully as Minwoo slowly neared Mish. She was staring up to the sky above; drowned in blissful glee. Her hands hung by her side and Minwoo neared her; eager to hold her hand in his. When their fingers brushed against each other; immediately Minwoo felt like he was electrocuted; taking him instantly to cloud nine; his personal heaven.
Unfortunately, Mish didn’t realize. Disappointed, Minwoo continued walking with a heavy heart. But when he felt a small cold hand snuggling into his hand, he immediately turned to look at her. And when he did, he was greeted with an affectionate smile; warming his heart instantly.
“I’ll keep you warm…” Minwoo whispered as he held Mish’s hand firmly; pulling her closer to him.
“Always…”
