I need new joints

Mar 16, 2007 07:44

Earlier this week I aggravated the sprain in my left ankle.  Stepped on snow that was half really solid and half not so much.  Turned the ankle hard enough to bring back the burning pain.  Nice.  I was wearing my brace at the time, but with all the weight loss, it doesn't stay tight anymore.  And then this morning I discovered, quite abruptly, that ( Read more... )

They come over here
And they take all our land
They chop off our heads
And they boil them in oil
Our children are leaving
And we have no heads
We drink and we sing
And we drink and we die

We have no heads
We have no heads

They come over here
And they chop off our legs
They cut off our hands
And put nails in our eyes
O'Grady is dead
And O'Hanrahan's gone
We drink and we die
And continue to drink

O'Hanrahan
No O'Hanrahan

They buried O'Neil
Down in country Shillhame
The poor children crying
And fe dee din de
Hin fle di dinfle
Di din fle de din de
In hey bibble bibble
Hey bibble bibble
Hey fle bibble de

O'Hanrahan
No O'Hanrahan

We drink and we sing
And we drink and we sing
Hey!

We drink and we drive
And we puke and we drink
Hey!

We drink and we fight
And we bleed and we cry
Hey!

We puke and we smoke
And we drink and we die
Hey!

"To be Irish is to know that some day, some way, the world is going to break your heart."

(I have no idea who first said it. Rose Kennedy said it when JFK was assassinated--or maybe Bobby--but I recall her as saying it as a quotation from someone else.)

I love that quote. It is very true, although from my perspective, it should be "...every day, in some way..." ;)

oh honey; that sucks!! it's bad enough stepping it pet protest-pee: I hate that alone, but to hurt your leg in the process: UG.

I guess you won't be up for Dodgeball on the 14th: crappy, take it easy, & get a new brace if you think it will help. The weight loss should totally help make your joints stronger & less likely to get hurt during falls too - you're doing really well with that. My goal's to lose 20 more lbs by summer - yikes, eh?!!

I had such a wonderful time talking w/you on Wednesday night too! Let's cancel Tuesday,ok? You need to take it easy & Ang has the kids on Wednesday so I'm going to take my big brother out that night instead.

Ouch! I can't offer you a new skeleton, but I could probably come up with some Guinness.
