Today's another day in the attic for hubby and my father. On renovation days, they spend the whole day up there trying to fix it into a guest room and a family room. I used to be afraid of leaving Oliver unattended when I had to do laundry. But there comes a time when it just has to be done. Not necessarily just leave the kids but make sure they're entertained somehow..and not beating up on each other. :) Maybe designate a certain day to do laundry. That's what I do.

I suck at laundry. I suck at cleaning. I don't think that this means that we're bad mothers. :) It sounds like you're trying to live up to somebody's else's standards (i.e. your mom's.) Everybody's different, we're not all Martha Stewarts. Don't be hard on yourself! Your priority is being with your kids so that nothing bad happens when you're in the basement doing laundry. Sounds like you've got your priorities straight to me! ((((hugs))))
