A level results

So, A-level results are out and they're continuing to make my grades look less exciting. I always find it hard to believe that it's simply that people are brighter, although it's very difficult to judge, to be fair...

My friend left FE because of the ridiculous way they wanted her to nudge grades up. Makes me suspicious of the whole system, sadly.

I think it's as much that teachers know how to teach the material to get the grades. It's only when exams change that the results seem to dip again- whilst the teachers get used to the new material/ requirements

Actually, I suspect this is particularly true of maths where the answers are particularly cut and dry - there is very little judgement in whether 2+2 is 4 or not :) But perhaps that simply means the maths (and other) exams are wrong and they simply test knowledge, and not understanding. And in the days of the internet, understanding is everything since knowledge is cheap.

I'm still of the opinion that only the top 10% should get the top grade and the system should be set up for it to be so.
