Story Skeleton
Intro:
Martirio in the bathroom: story being told about how he got into the bathroom and Raul situation.
Meeting the Devil: Devil interrogates Martirio about everything that’s occurred, gets him Martirio to spill everything
The Stabbing: Martirio is stabbed in the back of the van and thrown out. The devil tells him he’s going to have to decide whether to save his own life or anybody else back at the house.
The Pool Hall/Poker Scene: Martirio blacks out on the floor, the pain makes him hallucinate and he begins to dream. The dream tells of the first time he meets up with Ricky and the guys. From here he goes back to El Paso with them and he meets Mary. Martirio eventually brings up his best friend Johnny and we get to see who he is.
Martirio Wakes: He gets up and starts running back over to the United States, as he’s running he begins telling how they moved drugs across the border.
Drug Running: Here is where there’s going to be several stories of the drug running, how the operations went down, the system and how the drugs and greed made the boys turn on each other. He also talks about how Johnny stopped being his friend when he found out what Martirio was doing.
Martirio in El Paso: He crosses over on a truck full of migrant workers. He then begins running through the El Paso ghetto but passes out after running himself into exhaustion. His mind wanders off into a dream.
Killing Ricky: Bones finds files in Ricky’s room that have detailed information on Bones, Vegas, Mary and Martirio. Ricky has been keeping tabs on everybody and is desperately trying to find out who killed his uncle. Bones becomes suspicious and thinks Ricky is trying to set everybody up. He snitches on Ricky to Raul in Mexico who offers to ‘take care’ of this problem. Ricky gets killed.
Ricky: here’s where I’ll have the part telling everything about Ricky’s past. Its that really quick thing that tells all about his life in just a few pages.
Setting up Martirio: Martirio quits running after Ricky’s death. Bones convinces Vegas that Martirio is going to spill the whole story and comes up with an elaborate plan to steal drugs and money from Raul and send Martirio back over to his death.
The Fight, Upon Waking from the Fight: Martirio fights off six thugs on his own then gets knocked out and dreams of life before everything and about his best friend Johnny. When he wakes he’s in the back of the pickup truck on his way to the East Side to save Mary.
Shootout: Martirio manages to get to the house but the Devil and his men get there shortly after and start shooting the place up. Martirio gets Mary out of there.
The Freeway and the Hospital: Martirio carries Mary away for a few blocks and Johnny spots him. After some arguing, they get Mary in the car and haul ass to the Hospital. Martirio makes sure Mary gets taken care of, sends Johnny out of the hospital and then dies.
