One set of friends (C & M - C being the dad, M being the Mom) from the island announced on Christmas that they're pregnant (baby #4). I didn't think much of this - they've been married one year longer than we have (nearly to do the day) so I was a little bummed - but whatever - it's the year of babies apparently ( Read more... )

Wow. That's an astonishing (if not historical) way of looking at childrearing. Then again, eminently practical. Still, the cognitive dissonance would be hard to shake.

Pete came home today and said "Hey - so I was talking to D(D is C's brother) and C had a vasectomy after the third kid - so I think we should offer to take this one off their hands. Buy it off them."

How is there a 4th kid if C has had a vasectomy?

My guess is it didn't work.

Or - they're Super Fertile and wear capes announcing that. (seriously - if these people want a kid, they go off the pill about three days before they want to conceive and BAM - pregnant.)
