do you have to have BEEN somewhere before you apparate there?
the only info i could fine on the lexicon was
this. it says Apparition becomes increasingly unreliable over very long distances, and only highly skilled wizards are wise to attempt it across continents.
but that doesn't clarify it, to me.
thoughts? references i haven't thought of?

He had disappeared inot the unknown; all he could do was repeat the name of the destination and hope that it would suffice to take him there.
but he has a goblin and an elf (though - it's a dying elf. *sniff*) with him. so it's still a little unclear, but it sounds like all you need is the NAME of the desination.

my concept of apparition is kind of mixed up in my head with 'going between' on pern.
