Yahoo messenger does that when I take my laptop from home to work and vice versa. It gets confused by different networks. I have to quit and then restart it again. It's a real pain. The thing is that the older versions work just fine, but the newer one is just really stupid.

yeah. i have had nothing but grief since loading the newer version of messenger.

i think my system has something screwy going on though.

anyway - luckily all this worked itself out and was a yahoo problem rather than a ::MY:: computer problem. *phew*
