well, this has been quite an experience. maple agreed to write this with me - which i was beyond thrilled with. i've enjoyed this too much. *squishes my lovely maple*
such a lovely lady. gracious, funny, creative....

I read this at TQP this morning, and left a review over there, but I have to tell you that I absolutely love this. I love the descriptions of all of them, but Harry about broke my heart. I just want to squish him, but I want to squish him all of the time anyway. This made me tear up, and that doesn't happen often when I'm reading fan fiction. Nicely done, ladies. I'm incredibly impressed.

When I woke up this morning and found this in the validation queue at Table for Three, I was excited, right off the bat: a previously unseen ATTHNL chapter, a collaboration between two of the finest writers in the world of Potter fanfic, some decent Trio I had not read...

But I was unprepared for what I found as I read through the story.

This is more than all of the above, more than the sum of those parts.

I was privileged to be present for the birth of a true classic of fanfic, an essential of grown-up Trio, and, frankly a truly definitive view of magical Childbirth, which anyone who wants to write about birth in the Wizarding World from here on ot must take into account, lest they appear ignorant.

It's that good.

This was really, really beautiful. The characters were so clearly described, both body language and emotion, that it was a clear picture in my mind. And as a woman who's given birth, there were parts that made me just nod. (I think I had the non-magical version of that midwife at the hospital that day... :) I loved the details of Hermione reaching the point where she was ready for it to happen and Harry being so unsure and Ron being thrilled for him.

This was gorgeous, really. I felt a little bit like I was standing at the window of motherhood looking in, so I can't compare it with my own feelings, but it touched me. The dynamic between the 3 of them was wonderful and *real* and as always "Charles" was a favourite even though she had a small role here.
