Stressing

My book query was rejected.
Again.

Ugh.

Still haven't even finished the 50,000 word challenge.

Starting to stress about Thanksgiving. I don't know if I have all my bases covered.
I feel like I'm forgetting something. Can't figure it out.
My Sweet Baboo said he wanted to smoke a turkey.
I gave him a strange look.
Then I said whatever floats your boat. I'd rather we had done that in high school, but....
He explained how he was going to slow smoke a turkey over pecan wood and coals.
Again I said, whatever floats your boat.
He said this does.

Daddy has been falling down a lot. Then he was all gloomy. I really want to keep him alive until after his 90th birthday this News Years Day. So, I gave him some of my precious pain pills. I usually quarter them myself because they are pretty strong, and I gave him two halves.
He's been running around like a teen, now.
It even helped with his arthritis pain. He has an obviously swollen arm, but his doctor said nothing was wrong. And gave him nothing for the swelling. So that's when I butted in and gave him 'drugs!'
Yeah, man!
Too bad they have such a bad rep. They're over prescribed and over-abused.
But to people like me, and I guess my dad, they are very much needed.
Oh, well... until these go off the market....

OMG. Sweet Baboo has been insisting I do things I don't want to do!
Which is: watch stupid monster movies he fell in love with when he was a kid.
I told him I don't have time to live his life all over again!
But, confidentially, some of these movies are pretty good.

Last night, for example, we saw Valley of the Gwangi. I said, that is such a misleading title. Why not just call it The Forbidden Valley, or Valley of the Dinosaurs, or something. What the hell is a Gwanji? And who the hell cares to stick around and find out? I was expecting so much more! Dinosaurs? There's just dinosaurs I was waiting to see? What a bunch of crap!
But it had James Franciscus, so I shut my trap and enjoyed the movie.
I'm just glad Sweet Baboo is the sort that laughs off my insanity.
I used to get beat up because of it.

So, when I heard this lovely song on Dancing with the Stars- I looked it up- Yeah, it's from the sparkly vampire movie- it hit me emotionally, because it was exactly how I felt up to the point we admitted we loved each other.
It made me cry.
And I sent him a link.
I hope it makes him cry, too.
After all, the dinosaur dying at the end of Gwangi made him cry.
