Just to tell you, my central HVAC went out, what, two or three years ago. The central unit in the house is decades old, and, like, shot, and estimates to replace it are in the mid four figures. BLEEP that! I got a (supposedly) window-mounted unit for my bedroom and gas heat for me, and said t' heck wi' it.
Now, I don't recommend this for you, because you have a family who are likely to be Not Amused, but just to let you know you have company in this sort of thing.
Now, HOW did a videogame token land on an electric outlet?!
['Supposedly' - so as not to advertise my decrepitude, the unit is free-standing in the bedroom, its radiator faced against a twin window-fan, so that's all that is visible from outside. People don't see in infrared, so they don't realize that the air exhausting from those twin fans is significantly hotter than ambient, as the room within is significantly cooler…]
