One of the things that totally blew my dear Linda away, was that I simply didn't mind anything that she was sure would drive any man away - and indeed, had done. That she was sick, and wouldn't get better - was dying of an incurable illness - legally blind - that she was ditzy and useless (except in bed!) - that she'd been married six times before (“…So?”) None of that was her fault, and I loved her regardless. (I still do, obviously.)
You two are totally whack over each other, and he is doing his best. The best he knows, anyway. Certainly, suggest improvements! Unless I'm very much mistaken, he'd appreciate the input - so long as you don't nag or scold. But meanwhile he's NOT a drug-soaked drunken abusive loser such as my friend Melissa has described from her past, he's not a player or a shark - he's faithful and kind and digs you the most, and I have friends on LJ who would envy themselves GREEN at your good fortune.
