The implication is that Democrats aren't capable of being bastards. I think there are probaly a fair few naughty democrats out there also. The Democrats might be a slightly better choice for most Americans, but they aint heroes or saints.

Hear hear. The Democrats have been involved in/are currently implicated in various forms of dubious behaviour too - but unless there is a Florida situation again this time such trifles while nasty don't do much.

Of course there also a strand of Republican thought that goes "the country is screwed right now, maybe we'd be better off loosing this one".

And when it comes down to it does anyone really buy into this 'Change we can believe in' stuff ? In some areas Obama is to the right of McCain. Obama makes me think of Blair, some people have compared him to JFK (that's not good JFK was a genius salesman, he played well on camera but like many salesman he was corrupt, amoral, a liar and a macho prick of such massive proportions he nearly took us into a nuclear war for the sake of his wanting to be the tough guy)
