I still cant tell whether its a mmorpg, or just an mmo shootemup (or light-saberemup) with extra whistles and bells added.
It is a followup to star wars galaxies? Free roaming, xp/level driven character progression? Or is it a linear (if fluid) story arc you play through, occasionally cooperatively on the internet?
From what I have read on it (for instance, this IGN Artical), it sounds really really solo, with a multiplayer element attached. So not exactly the MMO I was hoping for, but obviously there is a long way to go in development etc, so who knows!
Similarly, from what I've read and seen, it looks like a large, open-ended, multi-player co-op game very different from the traditional MMO grindfest mentality.
I particularly like the implication that you and your mate might be able to go online, run through a storyline together, no matter your previous experience / playtime, and then have the choice to go your seperate ways again after until fate draws you together again, or hang about in a cantina (or whatever) if you wish.
Also the idea that people running through stories will affect the gameworld is cool too.
I'm tired of the Raid Guild mindset nowadays, I'd just like a game I can play casually, on a small scale, with mates.
Plus, you know... Lightsabers.
And awesome Bounty Hunter gals. Can't forget the awesome Bounty Hunter gals.
