Question for the plant people

The closest thing I have to a maternal instinct is kicking in and I want a pet. I realize that I'd be nuts to trust myself with a pet (Hi vtbiochemgoddes! Hi vtkatt!), so I'm thinking "potted plant" instead.

You could try herbs in window boxes. That way you can eat the results.

Philodendrons! They look great, hardly need any light, and are almost unkillable. I have the world's worst black thumb, and I've managed to keep one going since 1994.

I've always loved "Hen and Chicks". They're really cute aloe desert plants that take a LOT to kill. And they often sprout little babies that are sooo cute! They look like a small spiky green rose growing on the ground.
