My sister has finally gone home, but had to stay up all night, because she was too scared to go to bed ! As my brother pointed out, not once this holiday has she gone to bed before dawn ! She pretends she's not bothered but clearly is. Last night, well early hours of yesterday morning, I was in the bathroom and heard the woman, the infamous singing

Yeah she got out of here just in time, 8 inches of snow have fell overnight here in Manchester, the worst snow we've had in thirty years, the roads are blocked, the shops are shut, no one can get into work, even the radio djs ! We're five miles from the centre of Manchester, but it's not much better there, my sister is hoping to fly out to Turkey on Friday, but the airport is closed, yeah Manchester International airport it looks like the airport in Die Hard 2, so much snow !! The UK is at a standstill, it never used to be like this, but because we've had mild weather the last few years, ( apart from last ) they sold off the gritters, so no go !!! And you can't buy salt for love nor money !I think our government is on it's last legs, well rant over, back to the subject in hand

the snow - well here's my political two cents: global warming my ass!!! we've had snow 4 times already and our state has busted it's snow removal budget already!!! my area comes to a stand-still as well when it snows but i did hear that the UK was gonna get rocked this year w/ snow and cold - i like the cold and snow but i am just not used to it like in the old days (am older so thinner skin - ha ha) - i could never live in Chicago or in New England - too much of the damn stuff - tho the white Christmas that we had was great but i'm thinking of tropical heat these days.....

Yeah I know Global Warming, like F**k !! This is the coldest winter for half a century apprently, getting bloody colder not warmer, and like your state it seems Manchester city council has overshot it's budget, there is just no grit to be had or no salt for love nor money, someone even stole a gritter !!!!! I could handle all this when I was younger as well, seems as we get older we get less tolerant. Somebody told me France is enjoying sunshine and heat, hmm if I could afford it I'd be on a plane, ha if one could get off the ground that is, ha, ha !!!!!
