I am, officially, an idiot. I know this won't surprise anyone reading this, but I just wanted it out there, front and centre.
Since I got the iPad, I've been charging it using the same methods as for the iPhone, but bearing in mind that it needs more power, so using the same plug and cable i.e. stick the plug in the socket and charge... and it takes FOREVER to charge.
OK, it may take forever to USE the power up, but my god does it take a long time to charge.
And then last night, while googling for iPad tricks and tips (always a good tip for new kit) I discovered that inside my iPad box is a special more powerful charger...
And suddenly, it made sense. And the iPad charged up from about 20% to 100% in a few hours rather than overnight.
You're just being adventurous. After all most people would just use the charger in the box but you were prepared to risk blowing it up :D (Bit like the girl in the advert on the back of the scooter risking a dropped iPad)
