if anyone has ANY suggestions on how to fall asleep more easily, please let me know, I've been having a lot of trouble with this for a couple months now.
Here is a method used by certain occultists? Actually it was designed to help you be more aware of your life and sleeping easier is just a side-effect.
Every night, as you go to bed, play back your day in reverse. Start with yourself getting into bed and end with yourself waking up. You don't have to be ultra-detailed but you should try not to leave anything out. The odds are you will fall asleep before you are finished BUT this is not failure. You will probably continue to experience the recollection of your day in a dream, which is totally a successful thing!
ALSO try rubbing your ears. This is totally unrelated to the previous technique...
This is really obvious but perhaps just try drinking chamomile tea, or putting a sack of chamomile and lavender under your pillow. Taking a calcium supplement about half an hour before you go to bed should also work.
White noise. I have this massive fan (22" I think) that I just leave on all night. In fact I had to start using its timer function during the week, as otherwise I have a tendency to sleep through my alarm. Not that I can't hear the alarm, but the white noise just lulls me back to sleep.
That said, Ang finds the fan really distracting and annoying. So who knows.
