Not much to see here. See the site for more, though lately I've been bad about updating. Lots of other things to deal with. The email address is there if anyone wants to contact me.
hey, just wanted to say i like your site a lot. perhaps you could create an lj-feed if you're looking to bounce back and forth? (i have no idea how one goes about such a thing, i've just noticed a few others have done it).
anyway, i've had a vcd of satantango in my house for a few months now, and glancing through your posts makes me more eager to watch it. if only i could set aside 7 and a half hours admidst everything else...
Thanks for the compliment! I'll see what I can do about that feed...
I saw Satantango on two subsequent days, which helped a lot. The break point was the 4.25 hour mark (after the cat sequence), which may make it more manageable. It is very, very long, and feels it. I recommend starting with Werckmeister if you haven't seen it--I think it's the better film. And do pick up Krasznahorkai's War and War, just translated!
i mentioned the feed more for your convenience than mine, obviously. hope that didn't sound, i dunno, demanding or whatever.
i have seen werckmeister, which i seem to love more and more in the months that have followed. i have a not-so-hot VHS of it, but i'm thinking about renting the new R1 dvd just to see it in higher quality. defintely one of those great big movies that you can spend the rest of your life wrapping your head around.
