Yes, the Hugh Jackman movie. It was ridiculously all over the place, and just lacked a lot of cohesiveness. Now, do not get me wrong, its message, acting, and general plot was really deep and philosophical, and I LOVE movies like that. But I guess after seeing his other movies (Pi and Requiem for a Dream) I just had high expectations. BUT this movie...oh man...I think this could be even better than Requiem. I am so excited. I really hope it comes to main stream theaters around here somewhere. I mean just watch the trailer. I seriously get choked up a little watching it. And to make a movie about a once famous wrestler on top of the world, be forgotten and become nothing, just to reconcile with his daughter, get his life back together, and once again be on top... this is friggin Mickey Rourke's life as an actual person. And to have him play this role, what a mind blow. Damn. One of these days I am going to venture out to the Toronto or New York film festival and really see some great cinema. Mark my words.

I was disappointed, mostly because I thought "The Fountain" was a let-down from what it could have been. I thought it felt rushed, like it was almost to the point of having a strong cohesion, but was put out before it could be brought together better. I like it, but compared to other Aronofski films, it was a bit lacking on cohesive direction. All of the performances were great, and the story was wonderful, but the direction and sequencing could have used a little more. Overall, it was beautiful, so any criticism is minor.
