TV Reaction: Person of Interest 2X03 Masquerade

Oct 19, 2012 13:04

I realized I should post once in a while on this darn thing than just stare at my tv and my word processor all day.

Well, season 2 started off nicely, I thought. The two part episode getting Finch back held my interest. Plus, the friendship overtones between Reese and Finch are more obvious. I'm glad to see that because while I liked the subtle glimpses these two men shared in a growing trust, it's nice to see more yet still stay in that kinda gruff, reserved manner. I'm not asking for full-on hugs and "I love ya, man" but a bit more, please!

Well, it feels like (to me) the writers are getting it, slipping into an easier groove. Yesterday's episode was a nice hit for me, from Reese's casual yet concerned offer to grab a beer with Finch to Finch's initial inability to go out there after his kidnapping. Thank you writers for not sweeping under the rug!

Carter and Fusco are coming into their own and I much like them better as them being aware of each other. They play off with Finch and Reese nicely. I particularly liked how Carter's voice had slightly softened when she asked how Finch was holding up (Ahoy! There be a tag scene here!) versus Fusco's joking yet still glad "You don't call, you don't write" attitude when Finch is back in action.

There's more, really. I have much love for how this season is starting, especially yesterday's episode, but if I don't bang out some certain fics soon for certain pals, my number may come up! LOL.

One final thing though: Bear "And if anyone messes with you, he'll eat them."
