Essay
It is my personal opinion that wizards are too dependent on wands. I think back to when I was a child and my parents were constantly yelling at my siblings and I for making things happen with magic when we weren’t supposed to. I used to be able to make all sorts of things happen. A family favourite was leaping out of the attic window and seeing who could bounce the farthest down the lane. I am now an adolescent and can not make anything magic happen without using my wand.
If I were in a duel, or some sort of battle involving magic and my wand broke, I would be in big trouble, unable to defend myself. Perhaps the modern wizard’s dependency on wands is a bad thing and we should be learning wandless magic
Professor Binns, sir, I have a question about our lesson:
Ollivanders has been making wands since 382 BC, what did they make before 1689 (when the modern wand came into being)?
