So the word recently came down from On High™ (Read: UF's CIO) that all UF IT employees must migrate email and calenders to Exchange, I think by the end of this month. Needless to say, this has not be welcomed with open arms here at Stately Eight Bit Manor ( Read more... )

If the problem with RHEL is philosophic, CentOS and Scientific Linux are solid free alternatives with complete binary compatibility. I've built closed source packages for Red Hat-based clients without ever touching a "real" RHEL installation.

I like Mint, but I see the point of large institutions favoring RHEL. Canonical won't do 10 years of support for any release right now.

Good luck with Exchange. I poked at the DavMail bridge software last year in response to someone asking about a very specific task they wanted to do with OWA. Unfortunately, I got busy with school in September and didn't get around to exploring further.
