Lorna Told Me To

Jun 20, 2008 00:19

I like to post one of these type of memes every now and then. They are a good way to share with people and to catch up. mrsbrewer posted this one, so I decided that I would follow her example.

1. First Name: Zachary Charles Beare (I hardly ever share my middle name, btw)

2. Age: 21

3. Location: Coeur d'Alene, ID, USA

4. Occupation: I am a student. This last year, I worked as a tutor in Western Washington University's Writing Center. Starting in the fall, I will be starting a Master's program in English Studies and will be teaching English 101.

5. Partner?: marcusito. He and I have been dating for over a year now. He is an incredible guy. I love him so much.

6. Kids: None at the moment. I dont know if I want to have kids.

7. Brothers/Sisters: I have one of each. I am the oldest. I have a sister who is 20 and a brother who is 15. My sister and I are fairly close, though not as close as we used to be. She has a degree in Baking and Pastry from the California Culinary Academy and lives in San Francisco with her boyfriend. My little brother is very different from my sister and me. He is very much into football, hunting, and stuff like that.

8. Pets: None that live with me. :-( At my parents' house, we have 4 cats, a dog, and various farm animals.

9. List the 3-5 biggest things going on in your life:

- As I mentioned above, I will be starting graduate school in the fall. I am excited/horrified by the idea.

-Dating Marcus is huge. It is my first real relationship. I worry constantly that I am going to screw it up, that I am suffocating or annoying, and I always worry that I am not good enough. He is an incredible man, and he tries to convince me that I am too.

-With graduate school comes teaching. I am looking forward to it. I have done quite a bit of work with 101 classes because of the Writing Center. The thing that scares me is the idea of grading.

-I will be going home to my parents' for the summer. It will be nice to have some time to relax, but being without high speed internet and being in the middle of nowhere will be a big change. I also dont know how I will survive without Marcus. I have already started going stir crazy.

-I am a college graduate, my parents are nearing their 50s, I had heartburn the other day (I never have heartburn), my neck hurts if I fall asleep on the couch. To sum up, I am getting old.

10. School: I went to Harrison Elementary-Kootenai Jr/Sr High School, an incredibly small school near Harrison, Id. There are about 260 students K-12. My junior and senior year, I was dually enrolled at my high school and North Idaho College. I graduated from high school with my AA and transferred to Western Washington University. I just graduated from WWU with honors and will be starting their MA program in English Studies in the fall. After my MA, I plan on pursuing a PhD somewhere. I am still not quite sure where I want to go, and I go back and forth about what type of program I want to enter.

11. Parents: I am very close to my mom. We talk on the phone several times a week, and she is really a good friend. I love getting to spend time with her. We usually watch a lot of tv and movies. My dad and I aren't that close. I respect him a great deal. He is a great man, but we have never been close. He was never very affectionate. I think this was because his father did not believe that fathers should show affection to sons. I remember hugging my father twice in my entire life. Both times were within the last year. He hugged me at the airport last Thanksgiving, and he hugged me when they left after graduation.

12. Who are some of your closest friends? I dont know how to answer this question. I have so many incredible friends. Are close friends the people that you have a deep, incredible connection with? But what if you dont see/talk to those people often? Are they the people you talk to most often? I dont know. I have tons of good friends, and it would be silly to try to list. I love them all.
