hey, I noticed you live in Indy. I'll be in the area (muncie) for the holidays this year and was wondering if you put one of those moisture absobing packets in your camera bag? I baby my 10D and have never used it in "extreme" weather conditions because coming from San Francisco, there are none.
its funny... I've actually never really let any one of my cameras see any "extreme" weather yet, and I'm actually rather worried about my own camera this winter.
the manual for mine actually recommends placing your camera in a big ziplock bag when you go from shooting outside to indoors so that the condensation won't collect in the body / sensor, and the camera can adjust to the change in temperature safely. so I'd really recommend that.
and I imagine the packets would definitely help out, but again, I don't really have much experience with this. the big thing is to just keep the camera dry, so anything that does that will help.
but you should know that our canons are pretty reliable in winter conditions... just be careful.
but you're definitely enjoying the 10D, aren't you?
haha, it's funny you mention the zip lock bag because that's what I did when i went to Japan last winter for my manual because my friend had lost the lens cap. I definitely need to get a new case, the samsonite one is just too small.
yes, I am but I'm still learning how to use it. It's a huge jump, coming from my canon ae-1. I need to get a good zoom lens with wide apature and then I'm set. having just the 50mm 1:8 is so limiting!
well... I'm not sure how much you'd like to spend on a lens or how wide you want it to be, but if you're looking for a nice zoom, I'd go for canon's ef 28-105 f3.5-4.5 II USM. a nice range (about a 44-170mm with your camera), and quite exceptional for the price... you could easily find it for less than $250. I've spent some time with most of canon's zooms and this is easily one of the best non-L lenses... a great walk-around lens, which I think is what you want
( ... )
Hey! Where was that picture with Cameron and Kelli taken? Cameron looks mad/confused in that picture. hahaha. She's so funny! Have an awesome Thanksgiving break. Oh, BTW, IT'S SNOWING RIGHT NOW! hahaha. Just thought I'd let you know. LOL.
hmm, if you're talking about the three combined vertical shots, kelli was at... kohls... haha. and cameron was in a starbucks. I don't recall why cameron had that expression on her face though...
