1. slash burkenstocks. 2. it's the kitchen in my basement, which was redone a few years ago. before that, nothing had been changed since like the 1930s, so it was crap. 3. :) ohhhhh, not too complicated! you'll need a completely dark room, for starters. switch your camera to bulb, start an exposure, wave around some penlights for a few seconds, fire off a flash (an off-camera light works best) to illuminate the subject, end the exposure. you're capturing the trails from the penlights, and then the flash will freeze whatever your subject is. it's kind of like double-exposing.
John! These capture so much vivacity. And it makes sense that your photographs are so good since you need to understand composition and such for drawing. I miss you!

i loved reading this, especially since it came from you, yo. it's funny / sad though... i haven't been drawing much lately. and I'll email those video clips soon. and I miss you a bunch.
