haha. heyy. my name is katie. i'm seventeen until october. i will be attending kent state university in the fall to major in photo illustration and photojournalism. i love eating out, staying in, girls' nights, cuddling and photographs. i'm really sensitive, but also really strong. i make a lot of mistakes.
christ, I have a dirty mind... but... 'i love eating out' and 'girls' nights' in the same sentance is pretty funny. ahem. anyway. score one for you for majoring in the arts!
thank you / yep, my 5D is pretty much a walk-around camera; these were all taken with it ( and a 24-70 2.8L lens, for that matter :/ ). spoiled? probably haha. although part of me still wishes I would've gone for a medium-format mamiya :P
Ok, something about me...well, I play the violin. It's my 11th year. Crazy huh? And I got a new camera today. Canon powershot s80. Eventually I want to upgrade to an SLR but I don't think I'm ready yet. Anything else...I recently started to run again; I used to do cross country and track but stopped when a leg injury left me almost unable to hobble or walk.
And now it's your turn to say something about yourself (other than you take awesome photography :)
ah, sorry to hear about your leg (but I'm glad you recovveerreedd).
as for the s80... it's certainly a good camera, but if you want my opinion, I'd return it and grab up the canon SD550. The only real advantage that the s80 has is it's wider-angle lens (but the SD550 has a faster - better for low-light - lens and has a MUCH better close-focusing distance... 30cm against 50cm, and 3cm against 4cm in macro mode). The SD550 has a more powerful flash, better video recording options, slightly faster continuous shooting mode, and is probably $75 cheaper. AND it feels a lot more solid than the s80.
or hey... the nikon d50 is around $550 these days... not much more than the s80! just keep that in mind :)
Nah, too late for returns. I looked into the SD550 but I'm more content with the s80. Plus I can (in theory) buy special lenses and flashes to add on, like an SLR. And I got it for 20% off.

Hi. :) I'm Charline and I turn sixteen tonight at 7:59 pm, which was quite the anal retentive observation of my mother. I have no idea what college i'm going to, but I do have a fancy for Columbia University. I plan on studying writing, I think, perhaps photojournalism. I have been taking photographs since November of 2004, and I will finally be getting a new camera (a birthday present from my mother) on Sunday. I enjoy making (and watching) films as well as writing, and I am going to be doing a monologue as well as showcase-ing some photos at an art competition today.

Thanks babe. :)
Ha, good timing, though. ;) It's a Nikon D70! We ordered it tonight a la overnight Fedex. :D I'm going to purchase a lens in NYC tomorrow. Thanks! I got a good critique on both the photo and monologue- I hope that the photo goes to states! :) The non-digital photo critic looked over at our digital stuff and commended some other kid's photograph of a ferris wheel with some neon-esque photoshop filter applied over it, so I was sort of worried that they all had lost their senses. The digital critic knew what he was doing, though, and pointed out that filters are gross, ha.
