the show was pretty damn good. the crowd was a little small but still rather enthusiastic. I think the guy before us kinda made some people leave... he was pretty bad. and when I say pretty bad, I mean really bad :/
but it was fun anyway :) i hope your break has been dandy!
royal carribeannnn... and ohmygod do their cruise ships look ridiculously amazing. they have like freaking shopping malls inside. and climbing walls wtf.
ahhhh right on. I meant to make a comment in your own journal... sorry about that.
so. what I like to do is take the original photo, duplicate it into a new layer ( this is all for photoshop ), make that new layer an overlay, and then I work with the saturation and colour balances ( ctrl+u, ctrl+b are defaults respectively ) with one or both of the layers until I get something I like. usually I bump up the levels for cyan, green, and blue for the shadows.
but for a true cross-processed look, you're going to need to do more. I'd try following this tutorial. you might also want to search "digital cross-processing photoshop actions" or something similar.
thank you! believe it or not, I was only using a single external flash - 580EX - for everything. I wish I knew more about flash systems... I would've liked 3 or 4 flashes set up around the stage or something... I guess that's the best way to go?
I ended up just doing a lot of bounce-flashing, and I guess that gave some pretty good results :)

i downloaded an 'action' called urban acid. it's not good though, because it makes the images look the same.

usually bouncing works... even if it's just a black ceiling.
so I just do that all of the time!
