Got the full scoop last night. In a woman my age, vitamin D levels should be at 40. I am currently at 24. This is bad. It's not end-of-the-world bad, though. So, he wrote me a prescription for vitamin D, at the level of 50,000 units per dose, to be taken 3 times a week. (A normal supplement, by contrast, is like only 1,000 units.) Eeps, I am overdue for bloodwork, thanks for the reminder. (I wonder if there is a list anywhere of what I should ask to have done)

I tan year round, and when I am doing it regularly my skin itches less, and I feel perkier in general. Whether it's the tanning itself, or the fact I use the time to meditate or simply the time out I don't know.

Thiamin, iron, b-12, etc. I think it's just called a complete metabolic panel. They also tend to now check thyroid functions, too. All you should have to do really is say, "I've had gastric bypass, I'm due for nutrient and whatever checks done via blood tests."
