wow. that is STUNNING. and yeah, you immediately have a million questions. who was she? where was it taken? who was the photographer? why isn't it as well-known a shot as other rosie? (oh, wait, we know the answer to the last one.)

...what camera did s/he use? Film speed? Ambient light? Posed or candid? I want to find the photographer and suck her brain.

Y'know, I don't recall ever seeing WW2 propaganda and recruitment stuff aimed at people of color. Am I missing something? If they were that desperate to get every single pair of hands working, why the hell wasn't there a Black Rosie?
