Yeah, but my doctor changed my medication around, because it had been running too low. So they're just experimenting to see what my correct amount should be.
Wow, I definitely wouldn't be able to handle that. A guy I worked with last summer was diabetic and before meals, he'd have to give himself insulin and I'd just freak out whenever he did it.
I am rather unique in that instead of my pancreas NOT making insulin, it makes like 4 times too much, so my blood sugar isn't too high. Basically, my cells won't open up to the insulin, so my body just keeps making more and more, thinking it needs more. This is *mostly* good, because it doesn't tend to "cook" my insides, like most diabetics (most have major organ problems due to high blood sugar).
LOL, anyway. So mostly I have to check to see if it gets too low. But, since they changed my meds around it's been getting high.
I think shots are easier then the finger pokes all the time.
However, being in nursing school, I poke and get poked enough all day (for practice) so I just don't care anymore. LOL.
