Chii looked down at the band that was playing near the Tokyo Tower in Shiba Park. She could hear them well from here. She felt Kenshin's hand in hers, she looked over at him and smiled. "You know," said Kenshin, "you have a beautiful laugh."
Again, there was an awkward, somewhat nervous silence. And again, Kenshin tried to break the silence with small talk. "You know--" he started, but he was cut off.

To say that Kenshin was surprised is an understatement, but Chii, *she* had kissed *him*, but she was much more surprised. While Kenshin hadn't locked lips with very many people, Chii had, and it was never like this. She literally saw stars. She didn't even even know that was possible.

As for Kenshin, he just figured that it was probably always like that. He didn't have much experience in the matter.

Chii had known from the beginning that there was something different about this boy, but now she was sure. She kissed him again and it was even more powerful.
"Wow," she said as she sat back. Kenshin had a funny, slightly distracted look. He put an arm that was stronger than it looked around her. She didn't object. Between the music, the calm breeze, and Kenshin himself, she was getting more and more relaxed, and before she knew it, she was asleep.
When she woke, the sun was starting to come up. Oh crap, she thought, my father is going to kill me if he finds out I left.

Kenshin was still awake. "You missed the finally," he said with a grin. Then, "What's wrong?"

"I'm late, I need to get home." She stopped. "Were you up all night?" She asked.

"Yeah," he answered, "I didn't want to miss a moment." He got serious, "If you need to get home, you may want to do so. You don't want to give your father a reason."

"You're right," she said. She stood and started to go, but paused. She looked at Kenshin, who was now standing and kissed him again. They climbed down from the roof and ran together to her mansion. It was still very early, so the streets weren't as crowded as they could be, and they made pretty good time. She managed to sneak in unnoticed, but not before she gave Kenshin another kiss goodbye. She hoped her father hadn't noticed she was gone, and she was pretty sure she was safe, but there was always that doubt. She knew she wouldn't really be safe until something happened to that warui ryoken to put him in his place.
